Hah! Serve's 'em right!

It is no longer worthwhile to go see a movie in theatres. I can only think of 1 movie that I have seen in the recent past that was worthwhile to actually see in a movie theatre, and that was The Dark Knight. As I tweeted a couple weeks ago, I don't get what the movie companies are thinking. Now I am no economist and I don't have all the numbers before me, but it seems pretty simple: If you charge less for movies, more people will go. This seems like a good thing. Especially if you are trying to make money through product placement and merchandise.

Personally, I think the ideal price for a new release movie is 4-5$. Anything more than that is a rip off. If the move has been out for a couple months then the price should be 1$.

Anyway, this brings me to the recent news that iTunes Price Changes Hurt Some Rankings on the Billboard 100. They raised their prices 29ยข and the following week a number of those songs dropped significantly in the charts. This makes me happy. Greedy bastards!
