Harry Potter Movie Marathon!
As most of you should know there is a new Harry Potter movie coming out on November 19th. It is part 1 of the last Harry Potter installment.
I don't know if you all can remember back to November of 2001, but for me, that was a lifetime ago. I was still in High School! That was before TSP! I was so young then! *sniff* And that is when the first Harry Potter movie came out.
And now, this November 6th, to celebrate what fun these movies have been, and to celebrate growing older (both us and Harry, Hermione, and Ron), and to do something sort of silly, my wife and I are hosting a Harry Potter Movie marathon. That's right: all 6 movies, all in a row. That's 15 hours of Harry Potter.
I will be making crepes and maybe (depends on how many people come) sticky buns for breakfast. And Erik (how do you feel about this, Erik?) will be making either pizza or tortilla soup. Or if people can come up with some better Harry Potter themed meals, we could do that. Erik already suggested Butter beer (I have no idea what that is in real life...).
Because we have 15 hours to watch, I'm thinking we should start the first movie at 10am. That should have us finishing the 6th movie shortly before 1am the next day.
If you have better things to do than sit around all day and watch Harry Potter (I have a sneaking suspicion that my wife will sneak off at some point to study) then feel free to show up whenever or leave whenever!

When the first movie came out in 2001, I took the day off from school to go and see it! One of our perks for getting good grades was that we got to take a planned day off of school as long as we got it approved ahead of time. A bunch of us took our days off to go see Harry Potter. That was so long ago! And so much fun!
Can't wait for the marathon! I hope you can make it!

I'll be in the middle of my pediatrics rotation at that time, so I feel like it would be perfectly fitting for me to immerse myself in the relics of my youth. I'm in!

When the first one came out, my girlfriend at the time and I thought we were too cool to see it. "No way", we said. "How ridiculous it all seems", we shouted. So we held out for a long time. Then we saw it, and I friggin loved it! But the gf thought it was stupid. So I hid my love for it. Secretly wishing I could watch it again without whiny people present. But after seeing the second one during my first year of college and seeing the crush Ginny had for Harry, I had to go read the books and pronounce my love for Harry Potter to everyone I would ever meet thereafter.
So I'll be there! Because Harry Potter is the coolest of the coolest.

Okay, now that I'm officially coming (just bought my plane tix), I can start my campaign for the inclusion of "Wizard People, Dear Reader" as part of the HP marathon. But we have to use the original audio (I still have it on my computer), not the second version that the creator recorded later. The first one is way funnier.
Come on, guys! It'll be one in the morning (or even later)! We'll really want something to laugh at after the exceptionally well-directed angst-fest of HP6. Also, we'll already be really giddy from sleep-deprivation. It'll be ever more hilarious than usual.

Wow! That is fantastic news! I, as well, have the original "Wizard People, Dear Reader!" At least I think I do...

YES! I thought I'd have to try to talk everyone into it forever. This is going to be amazing. The whole thing, it's just going to be so great! :D
