"Illogical Resolutions"
Here is a nice article about a guy's attempt at reading a bunch of books one summer.
[Sounds sort of like Extreme Reading, doesn't it?]
I really related to the story. One line in particular really hit home:
When the summer ended, I knew at least two things I hadn’t before: Illogical resolutions are the most likely kept; and, whether or not this newfound endeavor had made me more interesting, it certainly made me more interested.
Boy! Ain't that the truth! I'll have to remember this one, "Illogical resolutions are the most likely kept". Seriously, I feel like those two lines sort of describe how I get excited about things. In particular this basically sounds like every project Omer and I have started together.

Thanks for that link--I really enjoyed that post. I'm also someone who comes up with big schemes, some of which pan out and some of which don't. But better to fail at something grandiose and meaningful than something small and petty, right?

you know, steve, i've often thought that. the whole "aim for the moon so if you fail you land among the stars" mentality. but lately, i've been really into making simple, solid projects. never aim too low, of course, but aim for something _just_ out of your comfort zone. and it's provided very pleasing results.
so i'm trying something new. start a smaller project, but do it really really well!
