Keri
I first met Keri in 9th grade of high school. And let me tell you, it was no love at first sight! I mean, obviously I was curious, how could I not be? I just couldn't really relate to her and what she was going through. Plus she had two different guys in her life. I mean how could I compete with that? Especially when one of them was so cool! Seriously, he was a bit of a role model to me. So, I just watched from a distance--
I think that is the best way to describe Keri's and my relationship: "Watching from a distance." Anyway, after that beginning I just didn't see any hope so I stopped paying attention. I tuned out. I don't know... we were in such different places. It was only four years, but those four years were some of the biggest. She was a freshman in college and I was still in high school. Plus, there was the distance. She was in New York and I was in Portland, OR. Opposite sides of the country. Plus, you can only give so much without getting anything back. She treated me like she didn't even know I existed.
Anyway, back to the narrative. That is what our relationship was like at the beginning and honestly I wasn't all that interested. So I went on with my life. I finished up high school and went to college without giving her another thought. Then things started to change. She became involved in espionage and created an allure about her. I started to see that she had a great smile. So, I began to follow her move and watched as she went to college for a second time! To me at least. And I fell in love. Now I can't get enough of my Keri. Unfortunately, the baby was a bit of a surprise. I was sad that it wasn't mine. I guess, for her, for my Keri Russell, I will always be waiting...
