Keri Nelson
As many of you know I have been dating a girl named Keri Nelson for the past while now. (The exact duration of the dating is hard to pin down, it was sort of a gradual relationship, but I have been friends with her since 2003 and have had romantic feelings for her since 2006). Here is a picture of her in the wild (with her kitty (or should I say our kitty? (just read on))):
Well, I'm happy to announce to you, my dear readers, that Keri Nelson and I have decided to tie the proverbial knot!
Yes, that's right, Keri and I are enganged to be married next August 6th! (thats 6/8/10 if you are doing a logical ordering of those numbers!)
Now, this might seem rather surprising to some of you (especially considering my aversion to growing up), and that is an okay reaction because, honestly, it was rather surprising to me too! Now, not surprising in that I find Keri to just be the darndest because how can anyone not find her to be the darndest? But more surprising in that every relationship I have been in (including this one) I have entered it expecting it to end. So, moving my mindset from "boy, I like this relationship, I hope it lasts a while" to "boy, I like this relationship, I hope it lasts forever" was a slow transition. And the surprising part was waking up one day realizing that my mindset had changed. Especially since I feel too young to be feeling this way! But I just can't help myself.
Now, enough rambling! Why is this girl the girl for me?
[I'm going to list things that I like about our relationship here, if you want a list of her virtues you'll have to hit me up in another post or something. Also, I'm keeping the list brief and general]
- No matter what we do, we always have fun together
- We have similar philosophies for how we live and interact with other people
- We have similar goals for what we want in life
- And this is the bottom line: she makes me happy
So, I hope you are as excited as I am!
Woo!
P.S. More details will be forthcoming!
P.P.S. Just in case you want to see the cutest photo of us ever, here it is!

What is UTC??? I can't even find it on google. Up the creek? Unlimited tiny congratulations? Unexpected tendency to conjugate??? Help!
Isn't it exciting!!

UTC = Coordinated Universal Time (or, alternatively: Temps Universel Coordonné). It's basically the same as Greenwich Mean Time.
Where... where are you seeing UTC, though?

(When I saw Omer's big "YES!" I was afraid that Omer thought Benjamin was asking if Omer would marry him. Which would have been awkward.)
This is great news, and I wish you and Keri the best and will watch for further details. As probably one of the few old married folks aboard, I'll say that it seems like the deeper the friendship and partnership and trust, the more stable and fulfilling the marriage. I don't know either of you very well, but from what I do know, it sounds like you have already figured that part out.

(I did think that. I still think that. And, it will be awkward. For you. At our wedding.)
(And, I don't mean at Steve's and my wedding. I mean at Benjamin's and my wedding. Steve and I won't be having a wedding. Not after that parenthetical statement he made!)
(Plus, he's married. So, whatever.)

Hmmm, is it bigamy if you are married to a man and a woman at the same time???
