Kind and Generous
I don't like to spoil my art but I think this project is pretty dead for now. I am very busy these days, what, with EGB and hanging out with Keri (I'm in Boulder now until December 17th!), and working on a couple side projects in the evening for like 30 minutes before I go to bed. Plus, in order to work on it some more I would need a huge beard! (As you will see)
Well, sometime last November I decided I wanted to make a series of music videos based on my favorite songs. I was going to do some Jewel, Alanis Morrisette, Hands to Heaven, Dido. Mostly female vocals but some variety. My first video was going to be for Natalie Merchant's Kind and Generous. I was going to do a sort of Brady Bunch style video so there would be 9 mes on the screen with each me doing a different part of the song. (Hence, the reason why there is so much downtime in each of the videos)
Here are the two that I recorded. If you watch the last 5 seconds of the second one you can see why I stopped. The contractor who was remodeling our bathroom showed up. I love the look of shock and embarrassment in my eyes.
I recommend buffering both of them and then starting them at (approximately) the same time so you can kind of get a feel for what the end product was going to be. I think I was still figuring out which lines were for which part. This is all very first attempt.
(For those of you who the Vimeo flash video players don't play, you can download part 1 and part 2 in Quicktime format)
