More about life as television
It is amazing how differently I would write that post today. I am sorry if I gave the impression that I was thunderboltless. Don't you worry, I've had my share of thunderbolts.
I think another problem with this whole thing is that movies and television depict life as a series of moments (or scenes, if you want to call them that). Where as real life doesn't come in packets, it is a steady stream.
I watched a few Wonder Years episodes recently, and as I was watching Kevin Arnold grow up ever so painfully I couldn't help but wonder what my wonder years would be like. What are the moments that define my childhood and ultimately define me?
These are the conclusions I came to:
a) I couldn't really think of that many moments. Like, maybe 5 if I tried.
Really, when it comes down to it, there aren't that many moments that have changed my life. Life changes pretty slowly. So, if you see someone go through a couple of these in a two hour movie, that can make you feel pretty left out.
b) I don't ever want to have to watch a wonder years show about me growing up. I can't think of anything more painful. Oh the awkwardness!

This post reminds me of something Carrie Bradshaw would write.

almost carrie, but you need a few bad puns and the phrase "and I couldn't help but wonder..." to pop up somewhere.*
*please note: I am not bashing

Check out the third paragraph! Plus, the use of wonder twice was kind of pun like. Kind of.

I couldn't help but wonder how I missed that.
While the wonder twice is a nice device, I don't think it quite qualifies as a pun.
