One Year with Keri
Yesterday was August 6th, so the wifey and I have officially been married for one year now! Aside from the usual jokes about how she was a huge mistake and this has been the longest year of my life, here are some impressions from one year of marriage:
- If you live together before you get married, getting married doesn't really change a whole lot
- Wedding rings are surprisingly easy to get used to. You'd think going from never wearing a ring ever, to wearing a ring everyday for the rest of your life would be a notable transition, but I didn't really notice it! I wish it was a tad bigger because I can't get it off without my hands being extremely cold or with some soap.
- Calling someone your 'wife' is really scary and sounds so old. But calling someone your 'wife' is a whole lot better than calling someone your 'girlfriend' or 'fiance'. 'Girlfriend' sounds so young and doesn't capture how important that person is, and 'fiance' sounds pretentious. In the past I always used, 'significant other' or 'SO' which still might be my favorite.
- I still haven't finished my half of the thank you notes. Sorry! I'm working on it!
And finally, my wife really is just the cutest ever, here's her giggling last night during dinner:

Get your ring re-sized if the fit is too tight! Also, you might try calling Keri your "partner"? Would that sound more or less mature?
Also, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

I can't get the ring re-sized all that much. They have sine and cosine waves going around them that form a complete circle. So I can't cut any out or add any in without destroying the complete circle. That is unless I want to remove or add a complete period. And that would be quite a bit bigger (or smaller)! So, the only option is to shave a little out of the inside of the ring. But they can't do too much of that because of the groove. Anyway, I might do it at some point, but I don't have a lot of wiggle room!
This just means I can't put on any weight in life.
