Showering laws

I took a shower this morning!

[first time in over a week! Does anyone else find that as the weather gets colder outside they shower less? I think because I wear more layers, the BO doesn't get out as much and I never have time for showers anyway]

I decided to multitask my shower. So I prepasted my toothbrush and took it into the shower with me. I have done this many times before and I never learn. Maybe now that I have it written down I will: Taking a tooth brush into the shower is one of many ways to just ruin a shower.

I love showers. Love, love love. I love feeling the hot water in my hair and on my neck. I could hang out under the stream of hot water just standing there for hours. But if you take a toothbrush into a shower, you can't enjoy the shower because you are brushing your teeth and you can't enjoy brushing your teeth because you are taking a shower!

There are only two things allowed to happen in a shower to not ruin it. Shampooin' and sudsin'.

[I'm not sure if sudsing is recognizable: I have taken the word suds, as in soap suds, and turned it into a verb.]

First of all, I shower daily no matter what, unless I have no access to a shower...which doesn't happen often. So the whole showering less in the winter thing I am really not familiar with.

Second, I like to brush my teeth right BEFORE I get in the shower because then you have that minty fresh feeling while showering (which is really nice and makes me feel cleaner) and you don't have to deal with having a toothbrush in the shower. Its gross, you have all that soap that may or may not end up in your mouth and then where do you put your toothbrush when you are done? On the soap scum residued shelf? I don't think so.

Thats my comment. And I got your message, thanks.

I also shower every day, even when I don't want to. I get really bad bed head most of the time, so I have to get my hair wet and blow-dry it at least. I also have a hard time waking up in the morning without taking a shower.

I used to brush my teeth in the shower all the time. I guess pretty much all of freshman and sophomore year, when I lived in Bemis. With a communal bathroom and all, it was just more convenient to do all of my morning getting ready stuff in one trip so I would interact with the girls in my hall as little as possible in the morning. (Even when I like people, I just can't interact with them first thing in the morning.)

But I thought it was super convenient because I kept all my toiletries (including tooth brush and paste) together in one basket and took it all into the shower. And I kept my toothbrush in one of those plastic cylindrical holders so it wouldn't get gross. Let's see... I brushed my teeth in between washing my face and conditioning/sudsing.

Say, does anyone else have a really specific shower routine? I like to do everything in a certain order, is that weird?

When I was in middle school I started showering in the mornings so that I could comb my hair before school. This was a pretty big deal since I didn't bathe much when I was in elementary school. But the problem was on cold mornings the warm shower felt so good and I wanted to stay there forever. So I developed a system for not spending too much time in the shower when I should be getting ready for school. As soon as I was finished shampooin' and sudsin' I would start counting down slowly from 10. When I got to 1 I would turn the shower off and get out.

A part of that routine has stuck with me ever since. Pretty much every time (unless I am in a big rush and that rarely happens) I get out of the shower I count down from 10. It doesn't necessarily happen right after I finish shampooin' and sudsin' but whenever I decide I want out I count down from 10. Every time!
