The Great Experiment Oh Nine, part 3
Okay, so I wanted to post an official list of what is apart of my experiment! Here are the things not covered in the official schedule below:
- Always put things away in my room
- Shave every day. If I grow out my beard then I'll still shave my neck.
- Not program in bed. It hurts my back!
- Finish all my showers with a cold water for a count of 30.
- Drink more water.
- No more soda pop
- Record my perceived level of health and energy every day (so we can see if the experiment is going any where)
Things that got nixed:
- Wear reading glasses while I am at my computer. I tried this and didn't like the reading glasses.
- Using an exercise ball instead of a desk chair. I tried this and my back hurt all the time.
- Sleeping on my back. I tried this but sleeping on my side is basically a million times more comfortable.
All of it is (based off of last week) hard for me to do. Mostly the sleeping and eating regularly. So, I have come up with a strict regimine for making sure I stay on track.
- 5:30 wake up. This is probably the hardest part of the whole darn thing.
- Take my heart rate
- Get up and put on my exercise clothes
- Weigh myself and brush my teeth
- Exercise
- Finish by 7. Yes, I realize that is close to an hour and a half of exercise, but with my new stretching regime (as recommended by my PT) where I stretch each musch 2-3 times it takes forever! Hopefully, as my body starts to
suck lessheal, I can cut this time down some. - Put Bram Muffins in Oven and go take a shower
- Ice knee while I...
- Eat breakfast. Three servings of fruit here. At least one of those servings is going to be from some fruit juice.
- Take Advil and Vitamins
- Do whatever it is I do during the day. Most days that is program.
- Bring a glass of water with me. I am usually dehydrated (using the urine test) and I don't want to be anymore.
- Have a snack at 10:30, probably most often carrots.
- Have lunch at 1:30. One or two servings of vegetables and carrots. Take more advil. Bring a glass of water with me back up to the computer
- Have a snack at 4:30. Again another glass of water
- Eat dinner at 8. 2-3 servings of vegetables. More advil
- Do something other than work
- At 9:00, stretch some more.
- When done, take more advil, floss and brush
- Get in bed at 9:30. Read.
- Lights out at 10:00.
All the advil is to make sure I keep all inflammation down in my knee so it can heal. I won't be doing that one forever.
Well, what do you think? I'll keep you posted on how I do!
(Because I am up late tonight, I will be sleeping in till 8 tomorrow. And because it is hard to start randomly waking up 2 hours earlier I will wake up at 6:45 on Sunday. But Monday is no fun and games. Down to business!)

Why is sleeping on your back better than sleeping on your side?

I'm not sure if it is. I just heard it some where once long ago and it stuck. So, now I want to find out if it makes me feel better!
